What is a Turkish towel?
A Turkish towel (Pestemal) is a lightweight, flat-woven cotton towel with origins dating back hundreds of years to traditional Turkish baths. Today, it has been reimagined with modern colours, patterns and lifestyles in mind, making it ideal for the beach, pool, travel and everyday use.

What material are Moonessa towels made from?
All Moonessa Turkish Towels are made from 100% Premium Combed Cotton — not standard commercial-grade cotton — and are OEKO-TEX® certified.

What is combed cotton and why does it matter?
Combed cotton is made using longer, finer cotton fibres, creating a softer, stronger and more durable towel with improved absorbency and comfort.
Widely regarded as one of the best cotton types for Turkish towels, combed cotton helps deliver the softness, durability and performance that distinguish a quality Turkish towel. That’s why all Moonessa Turkish Towels are made from 100% Premium Combed Cotton.

Are Moonessa Turkish Towels quick-dry and sand-free?
Quick-dry: yes — every Moonessa Turkish towel dries up to 4x faster than a regular terry towel.
Sand: our Lightweight class is sand-free, while Midweight and Plush are sand-resistant — the heavier the weave, the more it holds.

What sizes do Moonessa Turkish Towels come in?
All Moonessa Turkish Towels are available in our standard size of 90cm x 180cm, which is already larger than many regular beach and bath towels. Selected collections are also available in our Oversized size of 125cm x 220cm, perfect for those who prefer extra space, coverage and comfort.

How should I wash my Turkish towel?
Machine wash at 40°C or below on a gentle cycle. Avoid fabric softeners and bleach.
Line drying is highly recommended. Tumble dry on low heat if required.

What is the difference between Lightweight, Midweight and Plush?
Lightweight is our lightest, fastest-drying and most sand-resistant option.
Midweight offers additional softness while remaining light, quick-drying and highly sand-resistant.
Plush provides the softest feel and is closest to a traditional towel experience while still delivering noticeably better drying performance and sand resistance than regular beach and bath towels.
As you move from Lightweight to Plush, you gain additional thickness and softness while still enjoying the lightweight, quick-drying benefits Turkish towels are known for.

For frequent beach use, we generally recommend our Lightweight Turkish Towels.
They offer maximum portability, the fastest drying performance and the highest level of sand resistance.

Moonessa ZipEase Hooded Towels are designed to offer more comfort, practicality and choice than traditional hooded towels and ponchos.
ZipEase is our full-front zip. It opens all the way down, so you step in and zip up instead of pulling a wet towel over your head.
They're made from 100% premium combed cotton with a soft terry lining, a premium YKK® zip, and one of Australia's widest size ranges — Baby to Adult, in short and long sleeve.
Every one carries the OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN label, and the fabric is treated with SILVADUR® to help it stay fresher for longer.

When will my order be dispatched?
Order by 3pm AET on business days for same-day dispatch.
Orders placed after 3pm, on weekends or public holidays are dispatched the next business day.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery usually takes 3–7 business days — order by 3pm AET on business days for same-day dispatch. Need it sooner? Express is available at checkout, usually 2–5 business days.

How can I track my order?
Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive a tracking email with your Australia Post tracking number.
You can track your shipment through Australia Post or by using the "Track My Order" page on our website.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If your order has not yet been packed or dispatched, we’ll do our best to help with changes or cancellations.
Please contact us as soon as possible after placing your order.
Once an order has been dispatched, changes may no longer be possible. However, there’s no need to worry — we offer an easy return and exchange process.

Do you ship internationally?
Not yet. We ship within Australia only for now, and international shipping is coming soon.

How do returns and exchanges work?
Returns and exchanges are free within 90 days, with one free return or exchange per order. The 90 days start the day your order arrives, not the day you buy.

Do I pay for return postage?
No. Once your request is approved we email you a prepaid Australia Post label or QR code — pack the item and drop it off.

What can't be returned?
Items marked non-returnable on the product page aren't eligible. If you're unsure, get in touch before you send anything back.

How do I send my return?
You will receive a prepaid Australia Post return label and QR code by email.
Simply visit your nearest Australia Post location and show the QR code at the counter.
Australia Post can print the shipping label for you free of charge.
Please pack your item securely, preferably in its original packaging, and remove or cover any old shipping labels before lodging your return.
How do exchanges work?
If your exchange is approved, we’ll send the replacement item once your return has been processed.
If the new item costs less, the difference will be refunded. If it costs more, we’ll contact you to arrange payment of the difference.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return has been received and approved, a refund will be issued to your original payment method.
Please allow 3–7 business days for the refund to appear, depending on your payment provider.

Yes. Moonessa is a proudly Australian-owned family business and registered trademark based in Perth, Western Australia.
Our products are designed in our Perth studio and are primarily manufactured in Turkey, with selected products sourced from trusted partners worldwide.
Do you have physical stores?
Yes. In addition to our online store, you can shop Moonessa products at our physical retail locations in Western Australia.
During the Christmas season, Moonessa products are also available at selected pop-up stores across Australia.

Where are Moonessa products made?
Moonessa products are designed in our Perth studio and are primarily manufactured in Turkey, with selected products sourced from trusted partners worldwide.
What materials does Moonessa use?
Moonessa products are made using carefully selected natural fibres, with our Turkish Towels and ZipEase Hooded Towels crafted from 100% Premium Combed Cotton.
Rather than regular cotton or synthetic fibre blends, we choose combed cotton for its superior softness, absorbency and durability. We believe natural fibres provide the most comfortable, breathable and enjoyable everyday experience.
How does Moonessa support product safety and responsible production?
Our hooded towels carry the OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN label. It's one of the most trusted marks in textiles, and it covers two things at once: the fabric is tested for harmful substances, and it's made in a mill audited for safe chemistry, fair working conditions and environmental care.
The testing behind it is OEKO-TEX's strictest class — the one used for baby products. That's the standard every ZipEase hooded towel we make is held to, from Baby right through to Adult.
Our Turkish towels are OEKO-TEX certified as well.
